Independent Voter Project (IVP) is a 501(c)4 organization that seeks to re-engage nonpartisan voters and promote nonpartisan election reform through initiatives, litigation, and voter education.
We believe being independent is a mindset, not an ideology. It means thinking for yourself, having the confidence to allow free expression of opposing ideas, and being humble enough to learn from others.
Independent Voter Project is a non-profit 501(c)4 organization founded in 2006 as an effort to engage non-partisan voters in California’s policymaking process.
IVP is most well-known for authoring California’s Top-Two nonpartisan primary system, which was passed decisively by the voters in the 2010 election.
We will respect the importance of dissenting opinions. We will only bring information, options, and ideas to the public in a non-partisan and unbiased manner. We will always be honest and open to criticism.
